It was a beautiful hot day in Athens. Louise who was another artist in resident at Athena, was helping me carry all the wood needed for the installation at the old port. It was a fun train ride there and the install was going great when this Greek guy walks by yelling on his phone about something. I hear the word Malaka being used a bunch and I quickly understand he is the owner and is not very happy about what I’m creating. He gets off the phone to talk to Louise and I, and as the conversation goes along Louise asks him if this is indeed his property and if so, my artwork on the wall is now owned by him. The yelling stops quickly and a smile appears on his face. Yes, my artwork is his. He proceeds to take a photo with me before he leaves. Nice work Louise, nice work.
